Ethereum’s Geth added CHAMP, a multi‑dimensional peer‑quality overlay that protects useful peers while preserving random churn to keep the network open and eclipse‑resistant.
The update, shipped in go‑ethereum v1.17.5, builds on existing random peer churn to add chain‑anchored protection for peers that deliver transactions to the head or finality, and for low‑latency request handling.
